What Makes an Unmarked Unit Hard to Get Right
A slicktop looks like a civilian car until the lights come on. That means the emergency lighting has to live entirely in carcols.meta siren settings mapped onto small hidden extras, with no lightbar mesh to fall back on. When the link is wrong, players buy an unmarked car and get a plain sedan. Here is what we check.
Hidden lights that fire
The siren setting link is in carvariations.meta, and the manifest loads vehicles.meta before it - the wrong data_file order is the single most common reason unmarked lights stay dark. Siren IDs are kept inside the valid 32-bit range.
Non-ELS, no extra script
Every unit here works with the default emergency controls. No ELS resource, no VCF file, no client script to install. Siren audio ships in the resource so the unit is not silent when it lights up.
Streams under 16 MB, spawns on Linux
Each YTD is compressed under the 16 MB per-texture limit that makes FiveM drop textures or spawn a car as a tanker. The stream/ folder is lowercase and stream file names match the modelName in the metas, the two silent no-spawn killers on Linux hosts.
Unique modkit IDs
Unmarked cars usually keep civilian tuning. Each unit gets a unique modkit ID so tuning menus and body parts do not collide with the civilian version of the same car you may already run. Same pipeline as our Optimizer.

Unmarked Police Car Questions
What is the difference between unmarked, slicktop and ghost?
Unmarked means no livery and no roof lightbar - lights sit in the grille, visor and rear deck. Slicktop is a marked or semi-marked car with no roof bar. Ghost refers to a reflective livery that only shows under headlights. All units on this page are unmarked or slicktop with hidden lighting.
Are these ELS or non-ELS?
Non-ELS. Lights and sirens run from carcols.meta siren settings and work with the default emergency controls on ESX, QBCore and standalone servers. Nothing else to install. If your server runs ELS alongside, non-ELS cars still work; they just ignore the ELS keybinds.
Will an unmarked car conflict with the civilian version I already have?
No. Each unit has its own spawn name and a unique modkit ID, so tuning menus and body parts do not collide with the civilian model. Duplicate modkit IDs are the classic cause of parts vanishing after a restart; our build pipeline removes that defect before shipping.
The car spawns but the lights do not come on. What now?
Check the manifest: vehicles.meta must be listed before carvariations.meta. If you merged the car into a bigger resource, a sorted or alphabetical data_file list breaks this.
