Weapon Studio in one paragraph

The FiveMRides Weapon Studio lets you repaint any of 200+ vanilla GTA V weapons in your browser, then watch a GTA ped hold the gun you just painted, aiming, firing and reloading with the game’s own animations. When it looks right, export a FiveM resource: replace mode changes the vanilla look for everyone on your server, and skins mode gives an add-on weapon with several skins that players choose. Painting and previewing are free; an export costs 1 credit. Designs members share appear in a public Community gallery, where you can remix any of them with every layer editable.

How it works

  1. Pick and paintChoose a weapon and paint straight on the 3D model or on its texture sheet, with layers, patterns, finishes, text and stickers.
  2. Watch it in a handSwitch to the In hand view: a male or female GTA ped holds your live-painted weapon. Idle, aim, fire with muzzle flash, reload.
  3. Export to FiveMChoose replace or skins mode and download the resource. Drop it in your resources folder, add ensure with its name to server.cfg, restart the server and reconnect.

Paint like in an image editor

  • On the model or on the sheet: click and brush on the 3D weapon, or work on the flat texture sheet.
  • Layers with blend modes, so a stripe, a worn edge and a logo can each be changed later.
  • Patterns and finishes: chrome, gold, gloss and more.
  • Text in 9 fonts and 43 stickers made by us.
  • A wear effect for scratched, used metal.
  • 30 ready-made looks as a starting point. They are not flat images: they stay editable layer by layer.
  • 463 attachments are paintable too, and painted attachments go into the export.

See it in a character’s hand

  • A real GTA ped, male or female, holds the weapon while you paint. Changes show live.
  • Real game animations: idle, aim, fire with muzzle flash and reload.
  • Three scenes: Studio, Sunset with GTA palms, and Night with bloom.
  • Share it: save 2048 px renders and a 6 second clip.
  • 200+ vanilla weapons: pistols, SMGs, rifles, machine guns, shotguns, snipers, heavy weapons, throwables, melee and props.

Glow in the dark

Paint a layer, tick Glows in the dark, and the painted areas light up at night in game, in the colour you painted.

  • We checked it on our test server at night: the painted stripe glows in its colour while a plain control skin next to it stays dark.
  • By day the glowing skin looks like the normal paint, so it is a night effect, not a daytime neon.
  • Glow works in replace mode and in skins mode. A sheet needs a real transparency channel for the glow mask, and the export tells you in plain words when it had to ship without glow.

Two export modes: replace or skins

ModeWhat happens in game
ReplaceThe vanilla weapon gets your paint, for everyone on the server. Nothing for players to pick, and no new weapon name.
SkinsAn add-on weapon is added next to the vanilla one, with each skin as a weapon component (a collection). Players, your inventory or your scripts choose the skin. The vanilla weapon is not touched.

Not sure which one? Replace if you want the whole server to look the same, skins if you want a weapon with several looks to sell, hand out or unlock. The weapon skin guide walks through both.

What is in the download

A FiveM resource ZIP, ready to drop into your server.

  • A stream/ folder with the painted textures.
  • The metas the mode needs, and an fxmanifest.lua that loads them.
  • A README with the install steps and, in skins mode, the weapon and component names and plain native calls to give them.
  • Painted attachments are included.

Community: skins made by members, remix any of them

A public gallery of weapon skins and seamless AI textures that members made in the Studio. Found one you like? Press Remix and it opens in your editor with every layer editable.

  • Browse: sort by Trending, New or Top, filter by category and weapon, and search a title or a tag. An AI made filter shows only AI designs.
  • Remix is free: you get every layer, change what you want and save, and no AI quota is used. Exporting costs the normal 1 credit.
  • Community textures go straight into your patterns, free, on any weapon.
  • Like the designs you want to see more of. Each design has its own public page you can share.
  • Shared at export by default. You see the box before you pay. Only Studio subscribers (Pro, Max or Unlimited) can keep a design private, and a design with an image you uploaded is never shared.
  • Anonymous by default: “by a FiveMRides member”, with an optional nickname.
  • Reviewed: an admin approves each design before it shows, and members can report anything that should not be there.

Read the Community guide for the full walk-through, or browse the gallery.

Texture mode: describe a material, get a seamless tile

Describe a material, for example red dragon scales with gold edges, and the AI makes a square 1024 px tile that repeats without a visible seam. The server fixes the seams.

  • The tile is saved in your own texture library and works as a pattern on any weapon. The Studio shows one tile next to a tiled preview so you can check the seam.
  • One generation per texture, from the same weekly allowance as the other AI features: Max 12 and Unlimited 17 a week. AI is included only with Studio subscriptions.
  • Textures are shared to the Community textures by default; subscribers can keep them private.

AI textures, for Studio subscribers

Describe a style and the AI paints the weapon. The result lands as a layer you can keep editing. AI textures are included only with Studio subscriptions: Max 12 and Unlimited 17 generations a week. They are not available on free accounts.

Pricing

1 credit per export. Painting, the 3D view and the in-hand preview are free with a FiveMRides account. An export is one resource with any number of sheets. Re-exporting the identical design is free for 7 days, and Studio Unlimited members export for free. Remixing a Community design and using community textures are free; only the export costs credits.

Tested in game, with honest limits

  • On our own FiveM test server we saw replace mode and skins mode (several skins and attachments on one weapon) in game.
  • Glow in the dark was seen in game at night on our test server.
  • Skins painted by the AI were seen in game as well.
  • Skins use standard weapon components, so scripts that can give a weapon and apply a component can use them. We have not tested specific inventory or gun shop scripts, so try a pack on a test server first.
  • Gun shop tint changes no longer recolour an exported weapon: the painted texture replaces the tint palette.
  • Aiming, reloading and firing on the add-on weapon have not been fully reviewed yet. Enhanced (gen9) builds have not been tested.
  • Never restart a weapon resource while players are connected: it crashed a client in our test. Install, then restart the server or reconnect.
  • Images you upload must be yours or used with permission.

Weapon Studio FAQ

What is the FiveMRides Weapon Studio?

A browser tool for FiveM server owners and players to repaint vanilla GTA V weapons and download a ready FiveM resource. You paint directly on the 3D model or on the texture sheet, with layers, patterns, finishes, text and stickers, then watch a GTA ped hold your painted weapon with real game animations. The export is a resource ZIP with the stream folder, metas and fxmanifest. No Blender, CodeWalker or OpenIV needed. Designs you share appear in a public Community gallery where other members can remix them.

How do I make a custom weapon skin for FiveM?

Open the Weapon Studio, pick a weapon, paint it, and choose an export mode. Replace mode swaps the vanilla look for everyone on the server. Skins mode gives an add-on weapon with several skins as weapon components, so players choose. Copy the resource folder into your server resources, add ensure with its name to server.cfg, then restart the server and reconnect.

What is the difference between replace mode and skins mode?

Replace mode rebuilds the weapon's texture so the vanilla weapon looks different for every player on the server. Skins mode adds a new weapon next to the vanilla one, with each painted skin as a weapon component (a collection), so players or your scripts choose which skin to apply. Skins mode does not change the vanilla weapon.

Which weapons and attachments can I paint?

The library has 200+ vanilla weapons (pistols, SMGs, rifles, machine guns, shotguns, snipers, heavy weapons, throwables, melee and props). It also has 463 attachments, all paintable, and painted attachments are included in the export.

What can I paint with?

Layers with blend modes, patterns, finishes such as chrome, gold and gloss, text in 9 fonts, 43 stickers made by FiveMRides, and a wear effect. 30 ready-made looks are a starting point and stay editable layer by layer. You can paint on the 3D model or on the flat texture sheet.

Can I see the weapon in a character's hand before I export?

Yes. The In hand view puts a GTA ped, male or female, in the scene holding your live-painted weapon, with real game animations: idle, aim, fire with muzzle flash and reload. Scenes are Studio, Sunset with GTA palms and Night with bloom. You can save 2048 px renders and a 6 second clip to share.

Can a weapon glow in the dark?

Yes. Paint a layer, tick Glows in the dark, and the painted areas light up at night in game, in the painted colour. We checked it in game on our test server: at night the painted stripe glows while an unpainted control skin stays dark, and by day it looks like the normal paint.

Can the AI paint my weapon?

Describe a style and the AI paints the weapon, and you can keep editing the result layer by layer. AI textures are included only with Studio subscriptions: Max 12 and Unlimited 17 generations a week. They are not for free accounts. Skins painted by the AI were seen in game on our test server.

What is AI Texture mode?

Describe a material, for example red dragon scales with gold edges, and get a seamless tileable texture: a square 1024 px tile that repeats without a visible seam, because the server fixes the seams. It is saved in your own texture library and you can use it as a pattern on any weapon. AI is included only with Studio subscriptions: Max 12 and Unlimited 17 generations a week, one generation per texture. It is not for free accounts.

What is the Weapon Studio Community?

A public gallery of weapon skins and seamless AI textures that FiveMRides members made in the Studio, at /weapon-studio/community/, with one public page per design. Sort by Trending, New or Top, filter by category and weapon, search a title or a tag, and use the AI made filter. Like what you see, or remix it.

Is my design public?

By default, yes. The box to share to the Community gallery is ticked when you export, and you see it before you pay. Only a picture, the title, the tags and the weapon are public, and other members can remix the layers. A design that contains an image you uploaded is never shared. An admin reviews each design before it shows.

How do I keep my design private?

Studio subscribers (Pro, Max or Unlimited) can untick the share box at export. Everyone else sees the box ticked and locked, with a note, before paying. A design with an image you uploaded is never shared, whatever your plan.

Can I remove my design from the gallery?

Studio subscribers can unpublish their own designs. Without a plan you send a removal request and an admin decides; you see the answer in your shared designs. Removing a design takes it out of the gallery, and the resource you exported stays yours.

What is Remix?

Remix opens a copy of any Community design in your editor with every layer editable, so you can change colours, text, stickers or stripes and export it as your own FiveM weapon skin. The remix shows where it started from, and it is shared under the same rules as any design.

Is Remix free?

Yes to open, edit and save: it costs nothing and uses no AI quota, even if the original was made with AI. Exporting costs the normal 1 credit per export, and Studio Unlimited members export for free.

Can I use community textures?

Yes. Community textures go straight into your patterns, free, and you can use them on any weapon like one of our own patterns.

Who sees my name?

Nobody by default: your design is shown as by a FiveMRides member. You can add an optional nickname when you export. Nicknames, titles and tags are checked with the design.

What does the review check?

An admin reviews each design before it shows, and a rejected design is never shown. Real brands or logos, real people, hate symbols, sexual content, someone else's art and insulting text are rejected. Members can report a design, and enough reports hide it until an admin looks at it.

How much does it cost?

Painting, the 3D view and the in-hand preview are free with a FiveMRides account. Exporting costs 1 credit per export, which is one resource with any number of sheets. Re-exporting the identical design is free for 7 days, and Studio Unlimited members export for free. Opening and editing a Remix of a Community design is free and uses no AI quota; exporting it costs the normal price.

Will it work with my inventory or gun shop script?

Skins mode uses standard weapon components, so any script that can give a weapon and apply a component can use it, and the resource README includes plain native calls. We have not tested specific inventory or gun shop scripts, so try a pack on a test server first. Gun shop tint changes no longer recolour an exported weapon, because the painted texture replaces the tint palette.

Was it tested in game?

Yes, on our own FiveM test server: replace mode, and skins mode with several skins and attachments on one weapon. Aiming, reloading and firing on the add-on weapon have not been fully reviewed yet, and Enhanced (gen9) builds have not been tested.
