Livery Studio in one paragraph BETA
The FiveMRides Livery Studio makes any FiveM car livery-ready, even one that never had a livery slot. Drop the car resource, click the panels that should carry the livery, paint it on a six-view sheet or straight on the 3D car, and download a FiveM resource with working livery slots that you can switch in game. Uploading and the 3D preview are free. Exporting the finished resource costs 2 credits, charged only after the resource is built and verified. Free with Studio Unlimited.
How it works
- Drop your carA .zip or .rar resource, or the .yft with its .ytd. The car appears in 3D in a few seconds, in its own spawn paint read from carvariations.meta.
- Pick the panels and paintClick every panel that takes the livery, or use Body only. The sheet is built instantly in your browser, with six views: left, right, top, bottom, front and back.
- Export a ready resourceDownload a FiveM resource ZIP with the livery slots set up. Install it, then switch liveries with your livery menu.
Paint like in an image editor
- Layers with brush, eraser, fill, colour picker, move, scale and rotate.
- Text with racing fonts, shapes, and image or logo import.
- Paint on the 3D car with left and right symmetry, or click the car to place a logo or text.
- Mirror one side of the car onto the other in one click.
- Presets: racing stripes, side stripe, two-tone, police Battenberg, race number, fade and carbon hood.
- Several liveries per car, plus an optional "No livery" slot. Your project autosaves in your browser.
Who it is for
- Server owners who want police, EMS, taxi or gang liveries on add-on cars.
- Car makers who want to ship a car with livery slots without unwrapping every LOD by hand.
- Players and crews designing a team livery for their own server.

What changes in your resource
The export does the same steps a modder would do in Blender, CodeWalker and a text editor, on every model file of the car.
.yft and _hi.yft
The panels you picked get a new livery UV on the second UV channel, with the same projection on every LOD, and their paint shader switches to the GTA livery shader (vehicle_paint3).
.ytd
Each livery is added as a <txd>_sign_1, _sign_2... texture, the names GTA looks for. A fully transparent slot is added if you ask for "No livery".
carvariations.meta
A liveries block in every colour, one entry per livery, so the game counts the slots.
vehicles.meta
FLAG_HAS_LIVERY in the flags, without it the native livery menu shows nothing.
Everything else
The other files of the resource are packed back with it, ready to drop in your resources folder.
Tested in game
We exported a car with the Livery Studio and tested it on a FiveM server on October 18, 2026:
- The livery showed on the panels we picked, in the right place.
- vMenu Vehicle Liveries listed the liveries, switched between them and removed the livery.
- The livery stayed visible at a distance (every LOD carries it).
- It followed the body when the car was damaged.
That is one car on one server. Cars and menus differ: test your resource before players use it.
Pricing
Upload and 3D preview: free. Export: 2 credits per car, charged only after the resource is built and verified. A failed export is not charged. Re-exporting the same car is free for 7 days. Free with Studio Unlimited.
Credits work in every Studio tool and never expire. Compare Studio plans or see what each tool costs.
Good to know
- The Livery Studio is a BETA: test the resource on your server before players use it.
- Only painted body panels can take a livery. Glass, trim, lights and the interior cannot.
- Escrowed or locked resources (.fxap) cannot be edited. Upload only cars you own or have permission to modify.
- Uploads up to 100 MB. A 2048 px sheet is the recommended size: sharp and light for servers.
- Switching liveries needs a menu or script that uses the native GTA livery. We tested vMenu, not every menu.
Livery Studio questions
What does the FiveMRides Livery Studio do?
It makes a FiveM car livery-ready in your browser. You drop the car resource, click the panels that should carry the livery, paint it in a layered editor or straight on the 3D car, and download a FiveM resource with working livery slots: new livery UVs on every LOD, the GTA livery shader, the livery textures in the .ytd, and carvariations.meta and vehicles.meta set up. The tool is in BETA.
Is the Livery Studio free?
Uploading a car and the 3D preview are free with a FiveMRides account. Exporting the finished resource costs 2 credits, charged only after the resource is built and verified. A failed export is not charged, re-exporting the same car is free for 7 days, and Studio Unlimited members export for free.
Can I add a livery to a FiveM car that has no livery slot?
Yes, that is what the Livery Studio is for. It gives the panels you pick a new UV on the second UV channel, switches their paint shader to the GTA livery shader and adds the livery slots to the car files, so a car that never had a livery gets one. Only painted panels can take a livery: glass, trim, lights and the interior cannot.
How do I switch liveries in game?
Install the resource like any FiveM car, then use a menu that changes the native GTA livery. We tested vMenu Vehicle Liveries: it listed our liveries, switched between them and removed the livery with the optional "No livery" slot. Scripts can use the SetVehicleLivery native. We have not tested every menu or script, so try yours on a test server.
Why does a FiveM livery disappear at a distance?
GTA swaps a car to simpler models (LODs) as you move away. If only the high detail model was given the livery, it vanishes or smears at a distance. The Livery Studio writes the same livery UV on every LOD of the .yft and _hi.yft, and in our in-game test the livery stayed visible at a distance.
Which files can I upload?
A FiveM vehicle resource as a .zip or .rar (the folder with stream and the .meta files), or the .yft with its .ytd, up to 100 MB. Escrowed or locked resources (.fxap) cannot be edited. Only upload cars you own or have permission to modify.
Will it work with every car?
We cannot promise that. It works on cars whose body panels use the GTA paint shaders, and an export was tested in game on a FiveM server on October 18, 2026. Cars are built in many different ways and the tool is a BETA, so test the resource on your server before players use it, and tell us on Discord if something looks wrong.
