Tattoo Studio in one paragraph
The FiveMRides Tattoo Studio lets you put your own tattoo designs on the GTA freemode male and female peds in your browser and download a ready FiveM add-on tattoo pack for your server. Upload an image, click the skin where it goes, type its size in centimetres, and export up to 50 tattoos in one resource with lists for illenium-appearance, QBCore, ESX and more. Placing and previewing is free; exporting costs 2 credits per new design.
How it works
- Add your designsUpload PNG, JPG or WebP images. A PNG with a transparent background works best; a solid background can be cut away in one click.
- Put them on the bodyClick or drag on the skin of the male or female ped, type the width or height in centimetres and turn the design to the angle you want.
- Export to FiveMPick the lists for your tattoo shop or appearance script and download the pack. Drop it in your resources folder, add
ensurewith its name toserver.cfg, restart and reconnect.
Placement you can trust
- The real GTA bodies: the preview uses the freemode male and female peds, with a skin tone picker, so you see the tattoo on the body it will be worn on.
- 6 zones: torso (chest, stomach and back), head and neck, left arm, right arm, left leg and right leg.
- Sizes in real centimetres, measured on the body under the tattoo. The padlock keeps the image’s proportions, so a round design stays round on a thigh or a forearm.
- Rotation to any angle, and moving or changing zone keeps the size in centimetres.
- Each body keeps its own spot and size. One button copies a placement to the other body.
Your designs
- PNG, JPG or WebP up to 8 MB and 4096 px per side. Several images can be added at once.
- Background removal: when an image has a plain solid background, the Studio flags it and the Remove the background button cuts it away.
- A name for the shop per design, shown by tattoo shop menus.
- Texture size from 256 to 2048 px per design: small and light for a neck piece, sharp for a full back.
- Options per design: ink that takes the hair colour, and the badge layer for crew emblems.
- Undo and redo, duplicate, and projects saved to your account.
What is in the download
One FiveM resource for both bodies, ready to drop into your server.
- An add-on tattoo collection: the overlays file with every tattoo’s zone, position, size and rotation, loaded with
data_file 'PED_OVERLAY_FILE'. It has its own name, so no GTA tattoo and no other pack is overwritten. - One
.ytdtexture per design instream/, compressed with transparency and mipmaps. - Male and female presets for
mp_m_freemode_01andmp_f_freemode_01, each with the placement you set on that body. - Tattoo names registered in
client/labels.lua, and an optionalshop_tattoo.metafor tattoo parlours. - Lists for your scripts in
configs/(see below) and an optional in-game tattoo menu. - A README with the install steps, where each list goes, and every tattoo with its zone and preset name.
Lists for your tattoo shop or appearance script
Tick the ones you use before you export. Each is a ready-made list of your tattoos in that script’s format.

Pricing
2 credits per new design. Uploading, placing, saving and the 3D preview are free with a FiveMRides account. You pay once per image: a design you already paid for stays free in every later export, wherever you move it and whatever size you give it, and the same image used twice in one pack counts once. Credits are charged after the pack is built, a failed export is not charged, and Studio Unlimited members export for free.
Tested in game, with honest limits
- Packs made in the Studio were checked in game on a FiveM server in October 2026 on the male and female freemode peds: positions, sizes in centimetres, round shapes and rotated lettering matched the preview. Check colours in game, since lighting and skin tone change how ink looks.
- The script lists follow each script’s published format. Not all of them have been loaded in game with the real script yet, and the rcore_tattoos list layout is not confirmed, so try a pack on a test server before players use it.
- Tattoos are for the freemode peds (
mp_m_freemode_01,mp_f_freemode_01) only, and they are drawn on the skin: clothes cover them. - The in-game F6 menu does not save tattoos to the character between sessions. Saving is the job of your tattoo shop or appearance script.
- Background removal clears the colour connected to the image edge. Closed shapes filled with that colour keep it, and the cleaned image counts as a new design.
- Very large designs can wrap around a limb or the body, so turn the body and check big pieces from every side.
- The Tattoo Studio is in beta. Uploaded images must be yours or used with permission.
More ways to dress your players
- Chain Studio: custom chains and pendants in 3D, exported as add-on clothing for both bodies.
- Clothing Studio: turn a GTA clothing pack into a clean FiveM resource.
- Livery Studio: put your crew’s art on a car instead of a character.
Tattoo Studio FAQ
What is the FiveMRides Tattoo Studio?
A browser tool for FiveM server owners and players to put their own tattoo designs on the GTA freemode male and female peds in 3D and download a ready FiveM add-on tattoo resource. You upload PNG, JPG or WebP images, place them on six body zones with sizes in real centimetres, and the export writes the tattoo collection, the textures, the fxmanifest and ready-made lists for common tattoo and appearance scripts. No Blender, CodeWalker or OpenIV needed.
How do I add custom tattoos to my FiveM server?
Open the Tattoo Studio, upload your designs, click the skin where each one goes and type its size, then export the pack. Copy the resource folder into your server resources, add ensure with its name to server.cfg, restart the server and reconnect. To pick or sell the tattoos in game, paste the ready-made list for your tattoo shop or appearance script, or add the optional F6 tattoo menu.
How much does it cost?
Uploading, placing, saving and the 3D preview are free with a FiveMRides account. Exporting costs 2 credits per new design, so a pack with 5 new designs costs 10 credits. A design you already paid for stays free in every later export, even after you move, resize or rotate it, and the same image used twice in one pack counts once. Credits are charged only after the ZIP is built, a failed export is not charged, and Studio Unlimited members export for free.
Will the tattoo look the same in game as in the Studio?
Position, size, proportions and rotation should match. The preview uses the real GTA freemode bodies and the same placement numbers the game reads, and sizes are measured on the body in centimetres. We checked it in game on a FiveM server in October 2026 on the male and female peds, including round designs and rotated lettering. Check colours in game, because game lighting and skin tone change how ink looks.
Which body zones can I tattoo?
The six zones the game uses: torso (chest, stomach and back), head and neck, left arm, right arm, left leg and right leg. Each design is placed separately on the male and the female body, so it can have its own spot and size on each, and one button copies the spot to the other body.
Which tattoo shop and appearance scripts does it support?
Each export can include ready-made lists for illenium-appearance, qb-tattooshop (the community QBCore tattoo shop), esx_tattooshop, rcore_tattoos and Menyoo, plus a standalone Lua helper and a JSON list for your own scripts. The lists follow each script's published format, but not all of them have been loaded in game with the real script yet, and the rcore list layout is not confirmed. The tattoos themselves are standard GTA decorations, so any script that applies a tattoo by collection and name can use them.
Do I need a tattoo shop script?
No. If your server has no tattoo shop, tick the in-game tattoo menu option: players open it with F6 or /fmrtattoo to browse the pack and put tattoos on or take them off. The menu does not save tattoos to the character between sessions; that is the job of a tattoo shop or appearance script.
What image works best for a tattoo?
A PNG with a transparent background. JPG and WebP work too, up to 8 MB and 4096 px per side. When an image has a solid background the Studio warns you, because in game it would show as a patch of that colour on the skin, and the Remove the background button cuts it away. Only upload art you made or have the right to use.
How many tattoos can one pack hold?
Up to 50 designs in one FiveM resource, each for men, women or both. Every design gets its own texture of 256 to 2048 px, and projects are saved to your account so you can add designs later and export again.
Does it replace the GTA tattoos?
No. The export is an add-on tattoo collection with its own name (fmr_ followed by your pack name), so the base game tattoos and the other tattoo packs on your server stay as they are.
